The EducaTOUR is now well into its second year of operation, and, like the band, has evolved to become a professionally delivered presentation. A day with Colfax covers all aspects of the Music Industry, the challenges facing musicians both in school and as a career and a highly exciting rock show that has garnered feedback from media and schools simply summarized as "inspiring".
Band members, Brock Tinsley, Dan Mac Donald, Ian Nichols and Kenny Saunders decided to pursue their careers within the music industry ahead of more traditional career or education choices. Coming together to build Colfax through 2010, they have since played 120 concerts across Canada, written all their own music and professionally recorded 2 full length music CDs and signed a major record distribution contract through Universal Music Canada. The EducaTOUR experience has been shared with over 100 Canadian High Schools and 15,000 students from Nova Scotia to British Columbia. Schools face funding challenges across North America for their music programs - the EducaTOUR program is a possible (partial) long term solution which we are happy to discuss. The workshop has been delivered to audiences from 10 to 800. It does not have to be limited to "music students".
